

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Consumer Affairs in keeping with its mandate to encourage industrial development and provide technical assistance to the private sector in Saint Lucia has organized a two day seminar for the Construction Sector. This Seminar which is fully funded by the European Commission through SEQUA has as its main objectives:
To improve the operational standards of the Sector; To encourage functional co-operation between the Construction Sector, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Consumer Affairs, and other related stakeholders; To provide a forum through whichthe requisite rules, regulations, codes and guidelines governing the sector can be articulated tothe participants by the respective authorities/stakeholders; To reduce the element of non-compliance by operators within the sector to established rules and procedures; To foster an awareness of the challenges and opportunities in the global trading environment; To set the stage to form a representative body for the construction sector.The Seminar will be held at the National Insurance Corporation (NIC) Conference Room, Waterfront, Castries on Tuesday October 19 and Wednesday, October 20, 2010.
