APPLICATIONS FOR RENEWAL OF TRADE LICENCES

The Ministry of Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs hereby informs all foreign companies/individuals conducting trade in Saint Lucia that their annual Trade Licence is now due for Renewal. A foreign company is one in which more than 50% of its shares are owned by non-CARICOM nationals. A foreign individual is someone who is not a CARICOM national. Pursuant to the Trade Licence Act, Cap 13.04 of the Revised Law's of Saint Lucia, "Every licence shall be an annual licence and shall expire on 31 December in the year in which that licence was granted and may be renewed thereafter."

The Ministry therefore wishes to caution all companies/individuals conducting trade in Saint Lucia without the requisite Trade Licence to desist from such unlawful practice and visit the Ministry on the procedure for applying for a Trade Licence. Effective immediately, the Ministry will be administering the penalties outlined in the said Act to ensure compliance with the laws and regulations of Saint Lucia.

All Trade Licences are issued annually by the Hon. Minister for Commerce. All applications should be submitted in triplicate on the prescribed form to the Secretary of the Trade Licence Board, Ministry of Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs.
